[BZZZZAP!] Tch! You're in the way!

[The receiver whistles with a rush of air as it is quickly thrown aside, cracking as it lands roughly on the ground. In the background, a pair of hungry wolves can be heard growling.]

Heh. If you are looking for someone to be your dinner, then you've picked the wrong one... [The rings on his shakujou jangle.] Come!

[The wolves try to rush at Haruka, with their feet pounding against the ground and more vicious snarls. There is no way to tell what exactly is happening for certain, but there is an occasional thump and another jangle from the head of the shakujou as it is being shifted around.

THUMP! One of the wolves falls to the ground with a pained whimper, and then another after it tried to land one last strike against its prey. It's over.
]

... You should have tried to go after weaker prey.

[A few minutes pass in silence, and Haruka reluctantly scoops the communicator up, tucking it into the pocket of his jacket. So it recorded the fight, huh.

His feet brush through the wet grass, stopping only when a feeble bark can be heard in the distance.
]

...?
onikui_tengu: (nothing left to give)
[Click. The communicator is turned on, with Haruka unable to restrain his ragged breathing once the recording starts.

He covers his mouth, suppressing the urge to gag. This produces an uncomfortable lurching noise, but he manages to keep it down.
]

There's too much blood...

[The nightmares have been keeping him awake, reminding him of all the things that he'd rather forget. Then the feeling of intense paranoia, to 'kill or be killed' had made him feel particularly aggressive. He almost ended up revealing his primal urges against the monsters of the city and within the forest, while he had time to roam in that darkness. His real target was never there for him to land a strike, and maybe... that saved him from doing something he might regret later.

Then that sensation this morning... Did it ever really happen at all?

All he could remember is the red, and it made him feel sick to his stomach. He couldn't even take peace in the fact that the people who disappeared were beginning to return, covered in blood.
]

Shinjiro. I'm sorry... I won't be able to come to work today.

[After saying what was necessary, Haruka quickly switches off the communicator.]
onikui_tengu: (big shock)
[Bzzt... Bzzt...]

...

[The noise drones on, like a cicada in the summer. Except that it isn't that poetic in reality. The noise is coming from the sound of raw volts continuously being surged into this frequency.]

Annoying.

[Tap. The tip of Haruka's shakujou lightly hits the communicator, and when the tengu speaks, there is a hint of underlining malice in his voice.]

I wonder how much electricity it would take to kill this thing...

[A loud popping noise can be heard from the raw charge of electricity that isn't coming from the communicator this time, but... also the sound of running footsteps? They pad up against the ground in a dash, and then--

WHUMP!]

AAAH!

[The rings of the shakujou clang together, and then the whole thing just falls right over unceremoniously onto the floor with a hollow bang.]

[A cheerful voice speaks up immediately after, its rather loud, and belongs to Kantarou.]

HAAAARUUUKAAAA~♥
onikui_tengu: (you make my head hurt)
It's so noisy...

Where do all of these people come from, anyway?
onikui_tengu: (Haruka/Kantarou - guardian)
Before, you said that things would be fine.

There are things that I wanted to make you see, but it's pointless now. Both you and your "Master" are now gone.

If you were still here, I doubt that you would be able to say those words so easily as you did then, Testament.

[Click.]

[Off-Network // Mariner High School, Rooms 103-105]

Kantarou, you said before that we should try and go somewhere and make ourselves as safe as possible before.

I hope you have a plan.
onikui_tengu: (go away!)
[BZZZZAP!] Tch. It still--...

What?!

[The sound of water sloshing around like large ocean waves is picked up over the receiver, with Haruka struggling to fight against the tide; or the water barrier, as the case may be.

The communicator falls to the floor with a clatter, and apart from a loud muffled cry of frustration... a heavy silence fills the air.
]

WHAT THE HELL IS THIS?!

[Well, at least for a little while.]

[[As part of Sunao's chip event, Haruka will be trapped inside of the water barrier for 7 hours. It is currently located near Rooms 103-105 in Mariner High School.]]
onikui_tengu: (looking right)
[Voice]

"Oni yori haruka ni tsuyoi"...

"Stronger than any demon."

[BZZZZAP!] ...again? Isn't it enough that I'm thinking out loud so that others can hear me like this?

[He takes a deep breath, and then slowly lets it out in a sigh.] Fine. I don't normally ask questions like this, but I'll try it this time. As long as it will appease your little spies, or this stupid machine.

[Text]

I have been thinking about names, and how the nations here have human names. It was something that the one called China told me about some time ago.

Why must humans name everything? Nothing is real to you until you've named it, given it limits.

Why does something need to be named, and what does the name you've been given mean to you?
onikui_tengu: (ready to throw down)
This smell... There's no mistake.

[Haruka lets out a harsh cough. The smell of blood doesn't bode well with him... Especially with things the way they are now.]

Dammit. Why did it have to happen here, of all places?

Kantarou, I have a favor. Translate this message so that the others will be able to understand. There's no time to argue.

Everyone who is in the high school, listen to me carefully! There is [livejournal.com profile] the_police_girl wandering around, who smells like blood... Her footsteps are leaving a trail in the halls, so [livejournal.com profile] madwashu might have already--...

[...] Stay together, and try to remain hidden. If you see anyone suspicious, then run away or contact someone immediately.

[[ooc [livejournal.com profile] the_police_girl is loose! This is a warning that goes out to mainly everyone currently inside of Mariner High School, who may not be able to recieve help from the outside while the kekkai is in place. However, it won't be that way for much longer.]]
onikui_tengu: (Default)
[With the current mode switched on, listeners won't have the pleasure of knowing that Haruka has been getting buzzed incessantly since his time limit became overdue.]

[...] I would like to know more about the scientist known as Ace, or "Sweet One."

Also, about any other scientists that have been in contact with the people who were living in this city for over a year. Not for games, but as people.

[He never took an interest before, but... what [livejournal.com profile] sing_nonomori was able to tell him about Ace before has him a little interested. Especially considering what has been happening in the city lately.]
onikui_tengu: (speechless)
The air is changing again.

Here, the weather has been been sunny and clear. Some of the healthy grass grows near the lake and in the forest, but has a harder time in the city. If there are any wild flowers, then they don't live long either.
There's not enough water or shade, or else the earth is too rotten.

While back home, it wouldn't be long before the rainy season would be upon us.

[...] Sometimes its unsettling to me, just how different things are here. You can only look at the mountains from here...
onikui_tengu: (chibi!Haruka - stare)
. . .

Kantarou. It's gotten too crowded... I'm heading up.

You're on your own.
onikui_tengu: (are you even listening to yourself?)
Eh? ... Che. Did I fall asleep in Kantarou's house? [...] Hmph. He better not have tried to lure me in with food while I was looking for Muu-chan.

Though... something seems different. Alot of the old furniture is missing, and there are some new cracks in the walls. ...Heh! I hope it falls down on him someday. Good riddance. I'll try and warn onikui ahead of time.

[He lets out a tired grunt, giving his arms a stretch.] Well, I don't want to have to stay here a minute longer than necessary. Let's look for Muu-chan and go back home.

Muu-chan~ Are you in here?

[The tip of his foot hits the communicator.] Huh? ... What the heck is this thing?

[BZZZZAP!] OUCH! Grr... that's a nasty trick! [He starts stomping on it.] Take this, and this! Stupid thing!

[Connection is lost.]

[[ooc Haruka is being affected by Namine's chip event! His memories have been rewritten as if he is Sugino, the proud and oftentimes selfish-minded white tengu. As such, he won't remember anything about Discedo, or the things that he should as Haruka.]]
onikui_tengu: (okay! let's do this!)
[Voice]

[BZZZZAP!] Tch.

[...] Hanami... huh.

[An amused humph.] ...It's hard to think of holding a spring festival in a place where the flowers struggle to bloom and the cherry blossoms don't even exist, Yuuko-san.

[Text]

Wood that has already been cut should be hard to come by. They get used for other things that are more important than stalls. If we can obtain some from the trees in the forest, then that should be fine. Just be prepared for any of the monsters who live there.

Those that are too weak to fight should just stay behind. There are other things that you can do instead.

I would also like to know if there is any sake left, and who would be willing to donate it toward this festival.
onikui_tengu: (oni-kui tengu)
... -you want to die? Because if you continue doing whatever you want like this, then your death will only come faster here.

You've become a threat. It would just be easier to hunt you down and have you for dinner.

[While the communicator is shuffled around by the fabric lining Haruka's jacket pocket as he shifts position, the sound of fluttering wings can be heard nearby. Along with the occasional soft cooing of mourning doves.]

Calm down. I'm not interested in doing that, so don't worry.

...If you were brought here the same way as everyone else, then I can understand. You're probably not very happy to be stuck here.

Just-... [BZZZZAP!] AUGH! Shit! [The mourning doves take off in a flurry of panicked movements and wings, startled by Haruka's sudden shout.] Ah-

[...] Hm.

[Click.]
onikui_tengu: (just not in the mood)
This world is called "Fortuna."

A brand new world. Not just a broken city.

Yet you can only go so far until you get knocked down, injured, stricken by disease or killed here. Starved, brutally ripped apart by monsters, crushed or left helpless without a cure...

Even birds can't fly in the sky with total freedom. Because the sky we see everyday might as well just be an illusion. You can only go so high before you're forced back down to the ground.

Being stuck here is like being trapped inside of a rusted steel cage every single day.

[...]

...this city irritates me.
onikui_tengu: (Haruka/Kantarou - guardian)
I need a doctor. One who is able to come to Mariner High School.

If I have to come to you instead, then that will not be a problem either.

[The message is repeated in text, and then the frequency is turned off with a sharp click.]
onikui_tengu: (chibi!Haruka - argh!)
[The communicator clicks on, shuffling around in Haruka's jacket pocket while can be heard running down an empty hallway.] Shit!

Did he find them before, or wait until the power went out?

It's still snowing outside, so where the hell did he go?!

[After some more running, Haruka finally stops to catch his breath. Then he slams his fist firmly against a nearby wall.]

That stupid idiot... all because he couldn't keep his big mouth shut!

[[ooc Kantarou, Cirno and Haruka were robbed by a certain pirate phantom thief while their guard was down, and now Haruka is running around the high school in the dark trying to find the culprit.]]
onikui_tengu: (don't look at me that way)
[Voice]

One... two... three...

There are thirty of them altogether, including this one.

[The telltale clinking sound of a glass marble rattling around in a now-empty bottle of Ramune is picked up over the receiver, as Haruka tilts the bottle from side to side.]

...

[Clink, clink.]

Why would they give this to me? ...Ah- [A random thought slips in.] ... Subconscious thinking?

[After a long pause, Haruka scratches his head with a free hand, sighing.] How stupid.

... Oi.

[The video recorder is switched on, with Haruka putting the bottle of Ramune down harshly upon the table. The camera can focus on that for awhile.] Tell me how I can get the marble out of this thing.
