onikui_tengu: (big shock)
[Bzzt... Bzzt...]

...

[The noise drones on, like a cicada in the summer. Except that it isn't that poetic in reality. The noise is coming from the sound of raw volts continuously being surged into this frequency.]

Annoying.

[Tap. The tip of Haruka's shakujou lightly hits the communicator, and when the tengu speaks, there is a hint of underlining malice in his voice.]

I wonder how much electricity it would take to kill this thing...

[A loud popping noise can be heard from the raw charge of electricity that isn't coming from the communicator this time, but... also the sound of running footsteps? They pad up against the ground in a dash, and then--

WHUMP!]

AAAH!

[The rings of the shakujou clang together, and then the whole thing just falls right over unceremoniously onto the floor with a hollow bang.]

[A cheerful voice speaks up immediately after, its rather loud, and belongs to Kantarou.]

HAAAARUUUKAAAA~♥
onikui_tengu: (just not in the mood)
This world is called "Fortuna."

A brand new world. Not just a broken city.

Yet you can only go so far until you get knocked down, injured, stricken by disease or killed here. Starved, brutally ripped apart by monsters, crushed or left helpless without a cure...

Even birds can't fly in the sky with total freedom. Because the sky we see everyday might as well just be an illusion. You can only go so high before you're forced back down to the ground.

Being stuck here is like being trapped inside of a rusted steel cage every single day.

[...]

...this city irritates me.
onikui_tengu: (so many questions left unanswered)
[The transmission cuts in to the sound of shifting fabric and a lone pair of footsteps hitting along the asphalt. It must have turned on in one of his jacket pockets by accident.

Out patrolling the streets, there isn't much else to be heard past the occassional breeze or the distant howl of one of the wild wolves.

Suddenly, he stops. His breath hitches, and his fist comes slamming down against the side of an abandoned building with an audible WHUMP.

After a few seconds, a bit of crumbling rock can be heard falling to the ground, and the walk continues on until the feed times out.
]
onikui_tengu: (I've had enough of this!)
It's been happening a lot lately. People being returned to this city from their original worlds. Sometimes with the memories they had before, and some without.

Even I'm not counted out of that number. I can remember where I've been.

But what I want to know is the reason why; not that I expect an answer. Not from the people who would actually have it. ...Why the indecisiveness? Isn't one time good enough for you, Scientists?
Hell. I can't tell if this is something you do out of convenience, or if all you are doing is laughing at all of us.

[...]

What about you, Hunter? This must be convenient for you. You don't have to look far to find your prey anymore. ...Che.

[The frequency is promptly switched off.]
onikui_tengu: (......)
Hmph. [A powerful wing beat is picked up by the microphone. Muffled, but still there. It lasts only a moment before a soft thump can be heard. The sound of a pair of feet landing on a rooftop.]

[Haruka breathes out a sigh, before walking forward a few steps and sitting down.]

I hardly feel any different from before. Except now I could use a drink.

...If anyone had any words for me over the past few days, I hope you saved them. I didn't have the time to listen before.

I'm coming back to work after dawn.

It's getting noisy again.

...Humans have been able to survive for centuries in my own world without ever having to rely on magic or special abilities. What makes the people of this one so different? Always begging like animals...

I'll never understand it. How you can you not see that the scientists have managed to keep us under their thumbs with those chips, only to watch us evntually destroy ourselves later.

Do you really think that it is nothing but a mistake? ...It's all so stu-

[Haruka's voice is suddenly cut off as he lets out a sharp gasp, dropping the communicator onto the floor with a clatter. For a moment, he can be heard breathing harshly, and this continues for a minute or two until there is a soft thud as he falls down onto his knees.] Augh... what is-... [His voice becomes strained, as he is obviously trying to hold himself back. But it is futile. In mere seconds, the tengu lets out a loud and agonized scream of pain, as if it doing so will somehow make it all come to an end.]

[There is an even louder thud. The sound of a body collapsing. More harsh breathing can be heard, followed by coughing and a bit of dry retching. It takes minutes for his breathing to become even again, and for Haruka's voice to be heard again... distant, and weakened.]

What in the hell... was that just now...?
onikui_tengu: (take it all back)
[The communicator falls onto the street below with a clatter, the video feed fuzzy with static before revealing a rear view of Haruka standing in front of a Trance Rhino, poised and ready to attack with a sturdy mop in his hands. But where is his partner...?

The Noise charges at him, and blocks the impact of its horn with the handle of the mop. He gets pushed back, the soles of his shoes scraping against the ground. With a shout, he reaches one of his hands up and then brings it sharply down near the Rhino's face like a tiger attacking its prey. It falls back, and that's when the tengu rushes in with a relentless assault. Clawing and smacking at it with the mop.

The Noise doesn't go down easily, as its attempts at running Haruka through with its massive horn clearly show, but he ultimately becomes the victor as it finally fades into a wisp of formless... noise. He collapses to one knee, catching his breath.
]

Haruka!

[Kantarou can be heard, running up to him where the camera can't catch it. There is quiet, until the sound of a fierce smack can be heard as Haruka hits his partner's hand away.]

Don't touch me!

[[ooc Comment log post for Kantarou! Also, Haruka has gone sort of aggro from the sudden death of Sakon.]]
onikui_tengu: (take it all back)
These damn trees are starting to piss me off...

You may be in hiding right now, but that still doesn't give me any less of a reason to kill you for what you've already done, Sakurazuka Seishirou.

I'm not going to let anyone else fall before my eyes again. Especially not at the hands of a disgusting human like you.

[Switches over to voice mode. The following is spoken in Japanese.]

Doumeki...? Komachi...?

[...]

Che. [There is a loud slam, accompanied by a jingle from the rings on his shakujou.]

Stop screwing around!

It's irritating. I don't care much for the missing two days...

Apart from what I can't remember, nothing about me or this city has changed.

I'd like to think that Sorata's theory holds some weight in this, because I don't want to believe that I've only ended up losing more of the memories that I had in this city. If that was part of some kind of joke, then I'm not laughing.

[He gives a grunt off-radio, and then the communicator is switched to the default audio mode. He speaks in Japanese.]

I'm going out for awhile.

[There is a jingle from his shakujou, and then the sound of footsteps across the floor until they eventually fade out and the transmission times out.]
