Before, you said that things would be fine.

There are things that I wanted to make you see, but it's pointless now. Both you and your "Master" are now gone.

If you were still here, I doubt that you would be able to say those words so easily as you did then, Testament.

[Off-Network // Mariner High School, Rooms 103-105]

Kantarou, you said before that we should try and go somewhere and make ourselves as safe as possible before.

I hope you have a plan.
onikui_tengu: (ready to throw down)
This smell... There's no mistake.

[Haruka lets out a harsh cough. The smell of blood doesn't bode well with him... Especially with things the way they are now.]

Dammit. Why did it have to happen here, of all places?

Kantarou, I have a favor. Translate this message so that the others will be able to understand. There's no time to argue.

Everyone who is in the high school, listen to me carefully! There is [livejournal.com profile] the_police_girl wandering around, who smells like blood... Her footsteps are leaving a trail in the halls, so [livejournal.com profile] madwashu might have already--...

[...] Stay together, and try to remain hidden. If you see anyone suspicious, then run away or contact someone immediately.

[[ooc [livejournal.com profile] the_police_girl is loose! This is a warning that goes out to mainly everyone currently inside of Mariner High School, who may not be able to recieve help from the outside while the kekkai is in place. However, it won't be that way for much longer.]]
onikui_tengu: (just not in the mood)
This world is called "Fortuna."

A brand new world. Not just a broken city.

Yet you can only go so far until you get knocked down, injured, stricken by disease or killed here. Starved, brutally ripped apart by monsters, crushed or left helpless without a cure...

Even birds can't fly in the sky with total freedom. Because the sky we see everyday might as well just be an illusion. You can only go so high before you're forced back down to the ground.

Being stuck here is like being trapped inside of a rusted steel cage every single day.

[...]

...this city irritates me.
onikui_tengu: (looking right)
[The video function turns on, tilted at an angle and pointed out toward the city horizon.

This was no accident. He just wanted to avoid the shock this time, and maybe even show everyone a pleasant view of the two moons. Whatever the excuse... Haruka didn't seem to want to be seen, as he was clearly out of view.
But a soft sipping noise could be heard a short distance away, picked up by the receiver.

Kantarou, he helped himself in small part to one of your newly acquired sake bottles.
]

Ah.

[A bit of light faintly highlights the bottom of the horizon, coming up slowly.]

And so comes the dawn...
onikui_tengu: (serious minded)
[BZZZZAP!] Urgh... Damn!

[He grunts, reeling an arm back as he's tempted to throw his communicator up against the closest wall.] ... Hmph. [But that's not going to happen. At least not today.]

[Text]

Forget it. I have a question.

Since when have people started freezing in place with no memory of it?

Just what the hell is going on?

[[ooc Haruka saw what you did there, Rolo.]]
onikui_tengu: (unknowing glance)
Basically, waiting for this illness to "fade" has only proved impossible. Either the affected wind up dying, or the ones who don't have the strength to fight them.

I have no interest in pointing fingers... What I'd like to know instead is why there doesn't seem to be a better solution. Is there no way to develop a medicine to cure or a seal to bind these people?

Their powers and strength are the real problem. Because they can only use it to harm. It is beyond their control to do otherwise. I haven't been proven wrong yet.

Hmph. If anyone sees death as the quickest method of turning this around... You've let this world change you too much. ...You've let them change you too much.
onikui_tengu: (so many questions left unanswered)
[The transmission cuts in to the sound of shifting fabric and a lone pair of footsteps hitting along the asphalt. It must have turned on in one of his jacket pockets by accident.

Out patrolling the streets, there isn't much else to be heard past the occassional breeze or the distant howl of one of the wild wolves.

Suddenly, he stops. His breath hitches, and his fist comes slamming down against the side of an abandoned building with an audible WHUMP.

After a few seconds, a bit of crumbling rock can be heard falling to the ground, and the walk continues on until the feed times out.
]
onikui_tengu: (......)
Hmph. [A powerful wing beat is picked up by the microphone. Muffled, but still there. It lasts only a moment before a soft thump can be heard. The sound of a pair of feet landing on a rooftop.]

[Haruka breathes out a sigh, before walking forward a few steps and sitting down.]

I hardly feel any different from before. Except now I could use a drink.

...If anyone had any words for me over the past few days, I hope you saved them. I didn't have the time to listen before.

I'm coming back to work after dawn.

[The transmission starts with a soft clunk. The sound of the communicator falling over, amidst the sound of rustling leaves. Strange... there doesn't seem to be that strong a breeze in the city proper.

Something can be heard starting to crack, like pressure increasing against a glass window. Bit by bit... until finally-
]

Ugh... [A soft thump as someone can be heard falling to the ground. Haruka...?]

Don't touch me. [He says, his voice muffled by the communicator's distance.]

Kuu-...! I said don't touch me, dammit! [He shouts, amidst the sound of a pair of large wings flapping together. Something can be heard humming, crackling like electricity.]

Hurry... [It starts to become louder.] What is holding you back?! [Finally, he lets out a loud shout. In a desperate move, the sound of the rings on a shakujou can be heard jingling.

Within seconds, a powerful lightening strike can be seen guided to a different part of the forest. An audible breath of relief is picked up, before another loud thump can be heard along with the brush of grass, and the clang of the staff falling.
]

...

"Haruka.... Don't worry, I'll take care of you." [Kantarou's voice pipes in. He proceeds to chant until the transmission times out.]

[[ooc Late at night, a lightening strike should be seen hitting a part of the eastern forest, seemingly at random. No major damage was caused, other than the possibility of one unlucky tree getting split in half.]]
onikui_tengu: (a crow's companion)
Someone will have to take my place as the bartender for the next few days. Something came up.

I'll try to owe back the favor upon my return, and I'm sorry to ask for this now; when the air is heavy enough as it is.

Hmph... [Spoken quietly, as if to someone very closeby. That just so happens to be Succubus perched on his shoulder.] We've both been through quite the ordeal, huh?
onikui_tengu: (chibi!Haruka - stare)
[A thump can be heard as Haruka gives the TV a light smack.] It's still broken. I told you that it would be pointless.

...and would you stay away from me?!

[Text]

Shinjiro, stay down. I never knew many people who believed that getting knocked out was the best and only way for someone to get any rest until I met you. Sorata and I will be able to help manage the bar while you're recovering.

...It seems that I avoided enough of the disasters this time. It won't make me feel that my luck in this world is about to change, however. Maybe.

Kantarou, we still need to find a day to go fishing before something else decides to happen.

[[ooc Haruka is yelling at Watari, who may or may not be trying to attack him with some measuring tape. (I hope that's okay, mun.)]]
onikui_tengu: (take it all away)
Private; Hackable )

Sorata-kun, you shouldn't have said anything. Now I'll have to take your advice after all.

I will need that time off, and you will have to rely on yourselves for awhile. It may only be a day, or more, but you will be the first to know either way, Shinjiro. I'm...

[...]

I never thought that I would be staring up at the same ceiling again so soon.

onikui_tengu: (you make my head hurt)
[A muffled groan can be heard, as if half-spoken into a pillow.] So noisy...

[There is the sound of a blanket getting disheveled as he sits up.] For even only a moment, would it be possible for everyone to just shut up? As if being unable to shut out all of that noise wasn't enough after I was turned to stone... Ow. Dammit, my head...

...I wasn't able to understand everything while I was in that state either. Someone still needs to explain what exactly happened to me.

Hm... Kantarou, I want to know only one thing from you right now.

How the hell did I end up in the high school anyway? I could have sworn that I was out on the street before...

[Then his voice becomes more irritated.] ...and will you stop hanging all over me like that already!? My muscles still ache after being stuck standing like that for days and you're not helping!
onikui_tengu: (just not in the mood)
Those monsters before... what happened to them? Their numbers overcame the others before, but a few days ago it suddenly dwindled like that. It makes me wonder where they were even coming from in the first place.

Still, it seems like this city has enough problems without their help. It reeks with the stench of death here...

Pointless murder. You can fight and hate each other, but even if it ends in blood, someone will always end up come back for more. That's how screwed up this place is. The dead come back in a day. There's no other reason for it, because this city has no real power, nothing worth stealing and barely any direction. We're brought here, and we adapt in it to survive. That's the way it is for any world. The only difference is that here the rules don't even exist at all.

[He takes a deep breath, and then takes a slow sip from his chawan. There is a pause.]

...

This tea is weak. Weaker than the kind we used to have back home.

Where is he, anyway? I'm getting tired of being made to sit around like this. All over a few scratches...
