onikui_tengu: (yes my lady)
[The dim lighting illuminates Haruka as he stands atop the old high school auditorium stage. He is dressed up, like Kantarou, is the traditional kimono he received some time ago from an item rain. Yep. Yuuko managed to rope him into the Kouhaku Uta Gassen New Year's Eve event as well.

Trying not to look as ruffled and uncomfortable as he feels about the situation he's been caught in, the tengu takes a deep breath and calmly starts to sing.
]

[It is a reflection of the traditional enka style of singing, full of emotion. His hand motions and body follow the style of the song where appropriate.

This continues up until the final note, where he lets out a breath of relief and the video recording times out.
]

[[ooc The embedded video contains Haruka's song selection "Banba no Chuutarou" as performed by Hikawa Kiyoshi. His voice is provided by the seiyuu Takahiro Sakurai, and so naturally the tone will be lower than Kiyoshi-san's.]]
onikui_tengu: (head-scratching)
[BZZZZAP! Haruka lets out a grunt in pain as the communicator shocks him through his jacket pocket.]

Tch. [It soon goes up, and then down. Right on the ground with an audible clatter. He's been busy, and can do without the interfering spark.]

This is getting old. I guess trying to take this thing apart wouldn't be much of an option either, would it?

[...] I'm running errands for Kantarou, since he feels safer holing himself up in our room with the mistletoe around. Don't ask me why... though I can probably take a wild guess.

Moa-san, I'll be stopping by the inventory soon to pick up a few things. Watch your head.

[[ooc Haruka will be wandering through the high school from his room, and stopping by the Northern Lights for work in case you wanted to get your mistletoe action on.]]
onikui_tengu: (Haruka/Kantarou - you idiot)
[BZZZZAP!] -tei!

[The communicator fumbles out of the pocket of Haruka's trousers and onto the floor with a clatter.] Che. Again?

Again! [There is a thud, like a fist hitting a table.]

[...] What?

We'll continue until I win. Now, pick a card.

[There's an audible twitch.] You little--... You did that on purpose, didn't you? [The next card is picked with much reluctance.] ...what the hell? This is the joker!

MWAHAHAHA! You got the Old Maid! Ahahaha!

That's because you made me pick it, you cheating asshole!

You won all the other games! I was tired of losing!

[[ooc On one cold winter day, a man and a tengu decide to play some children's card games. Special thanks to Kantarou's mun for the cooperative post. ♥]]
onikui_tengu: (chibi!Haruka - ...what?)
This can't be happening. How can there be another me?

That doesn't even make any sense!

...an illusion?

[[ooc I apologize for any slow tagging on my part. I haven't been feeling very well, and it's really been cramping my style.]]
onikui_tengu: (...)
[You can just hear the heavy tone of sarcasm in his voice.]

Aah... It got away again. What a shame.

[Click.]

[Text]

Moa-san, if that youkai ever appears before you again, then just let Kantarou or I know. We'll take care of it.

As for everyone else... Keukegen escaped. The only ones who need to worry about it now are the ones with long, dark hair.

But it probably won't be seen for awhile. It tends to keep out of sight, for the most part.

[That being said, he switches back to voice mode.]

It has been awhile since Watanuki-kun has been heard from again. I wonder if ...Hmph.

I've been curious about something. Who else in this city possesses a powerful sixth sense? Not that it matters much here. Yuurei seem to appear to anyone they're willing to show themselves to.
onikui_tengu: (unknowing glance)
[There is a pause, though Haruka can be heard humming thoughtfully in the background as he examines the karasu tengu mask he received for Halloween.]

... Oi, Kantarou.

You can have this. I have no interest in holding onto it.

[...] I still don't trust eating this thing. What is it, anyway? It's orange.

Hm. About before... Don't people usually appear on those boxes when they start to work like that? Nothing happened this time. Though the air felt different... I'm surprised that I didn't see any youkai appear.

...and what was that scream? I have a bad feeling about this.

[...] I wonder if Bonten predicted that he would be returning home soon through his Heaven's Net.

[[ooc Strikes = thoughts/unhackable]]
onikui_tengu: (looking right)
[The video function turns on, tilted at an angle and pointed out toward the city horizon.

This was no accident. He just wanted to avoid the shock this time, and maybe even show everyone a pleasant view of the two moons. Whatever the excuse... Haruka didn't seem to want to be seen, as he was clearly out of view.
But a soft sipping noise could be heard a short distance away, picked up by the receiver.

Kantarou, he helped himself in small part to one of your newly acquired sake bottles.
]

Ah.

[A bit of light faintly highlights the bottom of the horizon, coming up slowly.]

And so comes the dawn...
onikui_tengu: (first strike)
--shit!

[CRASH! Something wooden collides with a hard surface and shatters upon impact. Haruka pauses for a moment, and sighs.]

Stop it. You're just wasting your energy, and destroying the bar.

Well, if you didn't dodge the chair, it wouldn't be broken!

[And the clicking of heels running at full force. The communicator falls out of Haruka's pocket, and shows an interesting view from the floor. Anemone's lunging straight at Haruka, a broad grin on her face. She takes a swing at his head.

Uh... Haruka, was your communicator always over there--

[The bar door swings open behind the two, to reveal [livejournal.com profile] dontcallmegol, in his rather colorful wardrobe.

...talk about awkward.
]

[[ooc This is what happens when you jinx it in front of Anemone. Thanks goes to the mun for the awesome fight scripting!]]
onikui_tengu: (easily distracted by shiny objects)
[The video feed is switched on, displaying one of Haruka's hands as he pulls it away slowly from the switch. The communicator is sitting on the floor a short distance away from him.
Currently, he is sitting down with his shakujou leaning against the wall behind him. Just in case it is ever needed to help deflect Bonten's power.

Oh, and his head is tilted up, staring intently at a glass marble held between the fingers of his other hand.
]

My treasure... A glass marble that I used to play with as kid.

[He turns it slowly in his fingers.]

Why would this be here?

[As the light shines through it, you can almost make out a light blush that appears on his face. He's like a little kid himself right now.]

Beautiful... Better not lose it.

[Though... there is something odd about this video. Behind his shoulders, a pair of large, black wings can be seen. They're his. He is a tengu, after all. But because off Yuuko's chip effects, they're clearly being revealed to the inhabitants of the city.]
onikui_tengu: (serious minded)
[BZZZZAP!] Urgh... Damn!

[He grunts, reeling an arm back as he's tempted to throw his communicator up against the closest wall.] ... Hmph. [But that's not going to happen. At least not today.]

[Text]

Forget it. I have a question.

Since when have people started freezing in place with no memory of it?

Just what the hell is going on?

[[ooc Haruka saw what you did there, Rolo.]]
onikui_tengu: (shocked)
[BZZZZAP! The communicator emits its periodic shock. A transmission is coming through and it is fiercely smacked away by a hand, where it tumbles across the floor only to end up on its side.]

Ugh...

[In that small view, one can see that the room has been entirely wallpapered with ofuda. Nothing more than a mass of paper and ink. But that's not all. Among the sounds of the jingling scales (and there are quiet a few of them in this room), Haruka can be seen crouched down on the floor. Obviously anguished by something unknown, if not in pain.]

S-... stop it...

[Slowly, he pushes himself up to stand on his feet, breathing harshly and trying not to look up at the walls. Almost deliberately. He brings a hand to his mouth, sounding as if he is going to be sick.]

You bastard...!

[When he finally looks up, his eyes look as if they've changed from their calm hue to something more predatory. Even his teeth look slightly more sharpened when he speaks, as raw electricity can be heard crackling around him.]

DISAPPEAR!

[Suddenly a powerful shock of thunder rips through the room in a bright flash and a jingling from the rings of his shakujou. The view of the room disappears in this light, until--a few seconds later--only Haruka can be seen holding onto his staff among a scattering of black feathers that disappear like illusions. The walls are scorched and blackened. Burned as if they've been sliced apart by a lightening bolt.

Wearily, he looks up.
] An... illusion?

Heh. Stop... screwing... [He starts to topple over.] ...around. [THUD.]

[[ooc Haruka just got a taste of his own medicine forgotten memories, compliments of the Medicine Seller's chip event. Expect a delay in any tags as he's not going to be feeling so hot.]]
onikui_tengu: (go away!)
[Click. The video feed is bumped on haphazardly, as if something fell on top of it and was quickly picked itself back up. ...or maybe it hopped?

There is a soft jingle, and the camera pans up to what looks like Haruka trying to sleep in a chair near one of the hospital beds while the acid rain can be heard falling outside. His eyes are closed, head resting against his hand with one of the arms propped up, and his jacket has been slung over the back of the chair.

Unknowingly, a fairly good-sized gathering of scales have made their way over to the sleeping tengu. Hopping, tipped toward him and spinning around without him being all the wiser. They are lined up the floor, the bed and the chair... whereever there is room for them.

They carry on, until his brow furrows and he lets out a grumble as a few start to ascend his arm. Then his eyes sudden snap open, and he violently shakes them off.
]

AAAGH! Will you just get out of here already! Go bother someone else!
onikui_tengu: (I hope you're ready for this)
It's been more than a day already... and that feeling... What the hell was that?

Hmph.

Youko, I'm going out to look for Kantarou. Watch the place while we're gone... I'll bring him back.

Definitely.

[One of the main doors of the high school creaks open, and a pair of giant wings can be heard unfurling. As if they were from a large bird. They beat together, and soon there is a rush of wind as he takes to the skies.]

Where in the world did you go...?

[The sound of his wings can be heard beating together occassionally, until the recording times out.]

[[ooc An unfortunate thing happened on the way to the forum cafeteria, and this tengu is none the wiser.]]
onikui_tengu: (a tengu's treasure)
[BBBZZAP! Haruka lets out a loud shout. Shocked and surprised. Not such a good combination.] Che...

What an unusual festival... [He seems vaguely amused.] Underdressed. But I guess it can't be helped, in such a place.

[A pause. He can't even believe the words that were about to come out of his mouth.] In spite of it all... it was kind of fun.

Basically, waiting for this illness to "fade" has only proved impossible. Either the affected wind up dying, or the ones who don't have the strength to fight them.

I have no interest in pointing fingers... What I'd like to know instead is why there doesn't seem to be a better solution. Is there no way to develop a medicine to cure or a seal to bind these people?

Their powers and strength are the real problem. Because they can only use it to harm. It is beyond their control to do otherwise. I haven't been proven wrong yet.

Hmph. If anyone sees death as the quickest method of turning this around... You've let this world change you too much. ...You've let them change you too much.
onikui_tengu: (so many questions left unanswered)
[The transmission cuts in to the sound of shifting fabric and a lone pair of footsteps hitting along the asphalt. It must have turned on in one of his jacket pockets by accident.

Out patrolling the streets, there isn't much else to be heard past the occassional breeze or the distant howl of one of the wild wolves.

Suddenly, he stops. His breath hitches, and his fist comes slamming down against the side of an abandoned building with an audible WHUMP.

After a few seconds, a bit of crumbling rock can be heard falling to the ground, and the walk continues on until the feed times out.
]
onikui_tengu: (first strike)
Again...

Starting on Monday, I will be available during the daytime as a bodyguard. Also during evenings or whenever business happens to be slow at the Northern Lights. But that's not really my call to make.

Kisaragi-san's post on the network from yesterday can fill anyone else in on the details.

It's been happening a lot lately. People being returned to this city from their original worlds. Sometimes with the memories they had before, and some without.

Even I'm not counted out of that number. I can remember where I've been.

But what I want to know is the reason why; not that I expect an answer. Not from the people who would actually have it. ...Why the indecisiveness? Isn't one time good enough for you, Scientists?
Hell. I can't tell if this is something you do out of convenience, or if all you are doing is laughing at all of us.

[...]

What about you, Hunter? This must be convenient for you. You don't have to look far to find your prey anymore. ...Che.

[The frequency is promptly switched off.]
onikui_tengu: (......)
Hmph. [A powerful wing beat is picked up by the microphone. Muffled, but still there. It lasts only a moment before a soft thump can be heard. The sound of a pair of feet landing on a rooftop.]

[Haruka breathes out a sigh, before walking forward a few steps and sitting down.]

I hardly feel any different from before. Except now I could use a drink.

...If anyone had any words for me over the past few days, I hope you saved them. I didn't have the time to listen before.

I'm coming back to work after dawn.
