Also, about any other scientists that have been in contact with the people who were living in this city for over a year. Not for games, but as people.

[He never took an interest before, but... what sing_nonomori was able to tell him about Ace before has him a little interested. Especially considering what has been happening in the city lately.]

It's easier to lose yourself. The blame always gets shifted onto them, because the scientists are the only presence we are sure about in this world, right? People regret coming here, because of whatever it is they have to do with us.

... No... Not when I really think about it.

It's rare for people to think about the other side of the situation. Not that I'm excusing what's happening to us, but... I'm sure it's all much more complicated than what we imagine.

Though, it might be nice to talk to them more, it's a bit frustrating to be here nearly two years and still have no idea what is going on.

If people have to die in such a gruesome fashion, then I don't think there is any question about that anymore.

Which means that either we're supposed to be responsible for finding the answers ourselves, or that those same things are supposed to be kept hidden away from us.

Maybe it's even both.

It's hard to tell, but either way we'll have to figure it out on our own. Expecting help would be foolish.

I'm not even sure how it got where it did... but.... I think perhaps there might be more to everything than we think there might be. For a while the scientists have seemed to have a few different, and conflicting goals. Perhaps, not all of them are on the same page?

If there were a way to find that out, then maybe we could keep something like that from happening again. That yuurei carried a fierce grudge with it.

If that's true, then we might have to be extra cautious now.

I was already "worried" about that before. At least Yuuko is finding more volunteers to help out with the festival this time around.

I was talking to a boy named Sealand earlier. He is a country person, like Japan.

He's insisting that I become his citizen, but that sounds troublesome. Even if he claims to support dual-citizenship. So, I told him that I would ask for a second opinion.

...What should I do about this, Kantarou?

Do you get anything out of it? Generally I avoid all the ones that try to do that, it just seems troublesome to get involved.

He said that as his citizen, he'll help me with stuff, and even throw in a fancy title.

It is troublesome.

But this boy is persistent, and I don't think he'll leave me alone with just this.

Then go for it? If it's more annoying to ignore him giving in is probably easier.

But! A title is impressive, we could use that to an advantage probably! Still, the choice is yours, do you feel like dealing with it?

It seems like the easiest way.

A title implies you're someone important, so it's something you can brag about. I suppose it's sort of how all the youkai call you Onikui, and then give you respect.

Then do as you like, after all you make your own choices.
