The air is changing again.

Here, the weather has been been sunny and clear. Some of the healthy grass grows near the lake and in the forest, but has a harder time in the city. If there are any wild flowers, then they don't live long either.
There's not enough water or shade, or else the earth is too rotten.

While back home, it wouldn't be long before the rainy season would be upon us.

[...] Sometimes its unsettling to me, just how different things are here. You can only look at the mountains from here...

Don't be rude to your elders, aru!

If that's what you meant, you should have said so. Aiyah! Speak more clearly, aru.

You don't look any older than I do.

If I had, then there would have been no point of being sarcastic at all.

Everyone here says that, aru! I am over 4,000 years old.

Considering what I just said, I'm not that surprised if you've heard it many times before.

[...]

You can't be human.

Of course not, aru. I am China.

[Hi there. - Haruka would look a little more shocked if he hadn't already experienced this sort of thing once before with his homeland.]

Then you're the same as Japan?

That explains why you sound like a foreigner, at least.

I'm not the same at all! Japan is my younger brother, aru.

Why do you sound so surprised? I've known him since he was small, aru.

Because I don't understand you people at all...

In my world, all you are is an expanse of foreign land that I've never wished to go to.

We're not people. That's the point, aru.

Then what should I call you?

You're not human, nor do fit my image of what a country is supposed to be.

[Not meaning to be critical.]

I have a human name. But the other nations just call me China, aru.

[Deep sigh.]

That's not what I meant...

[...]

Then what is your human name?

Then even countries can be given human names...

[...]

My name is Haruka.

We all do. Our citizens know them.

Nice to meet you, aru.

I see.

[Oh my. What an honor this is then, hm?]

Mm.
